Member of Temple in Muncie Civic Theatre production of ‘Twilight of the Golds’

A member of our congregation, Tom Steiner, is in the cast of Twilight of the Golds, a play that Muncie Civic Theater will present in the STUDIO THEATER September 6-7, 13-15, and 20-21.  Friday and Saturday performances are at 8:00 pm. The Sunday matinee on September 15th is at 2:00 pm and includes a talk back with the director after the show. Tickets are $10 for adults and students. Seating is general admission. New start time for Shabbat services

To better accommodate people with young children and people who have to drive some distance to and from the Temple, Shabbat services will begin at 7:00 p.m. this year.  Torah Study will remain at 9:00 a.m. on Saturdays (except for September 7th, when Torah Study will be at 11:00 a.m.) The schedule of Shabbat services and Torah Study through May 2014 is given below.  The weekends listed are the weekends student rabbi Rebecca Ratner will be in Muncie.

HARTFORD CITY – Rebecca Helen Goldberg, 65, of Hartford City, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013. She was born on June 21, 1947 in Chicago, IL to Samuel and Sara Wexler. Rebecca briefly worked for AC Nielson in Chicago and Illinois Bell Telephone Company, but her real passion was working with her husband, Alan, at his company, Hartford Iron and Metal Inc. She was a member of Beth-El Temple in Muncie, IN and its Sisterhood. Rebecca was also a long time volunteer at Ball Hospital. Communities Coming Together

Yesterday the Jewish and Muslim communities of Muncie came together to help Muncie-Delaware Clean and Beautiful beautify Muncie by adopting, cleaning and planting one of our city’s medians. Wearing grubby clothes, gloves, and a large amount of community spirit, we took a small triangle of land on Martin Luther King Blvd and turned it into a place of friendship, understanding and community. Though just a small plot of land it represents something larger. It represents that people can come together and live in harmony and peace.
