Hoosier Jewish Legends Marty and Helen Schwartz
Martin Schwartz and Helen Schwartz, long-time stalwarts of Temple Beth El, have been named to the Hoosier Jewish Legends Hall of Fame by the Indiana Jewish Historical Society. Temple Beth El extends heartfelt congratulations to the Schwartz family for this distinguished honor. Mazel Tov.
2016 is the inaugural year for the Hoosier Jewish Legends Hall of Fame, which was created as part of Indiana’s 2016 bicentennial celebration to recognize the contributions of Indiana’s Jewish community to the state’s history. A state-wide, blue-ribbon panel selected individuals, living or deceased, who have made a significant and lasting impact on their profession, community, and the fabric of our cultural heritage in Indiana. The first class of Hoosier Legends was inducted in conjunction with the Indiana Jewish Historical Society Annual Meeting on October 23, 2016.
